2002 APWA Project of the Year
In 2002, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers gathered together numerous contractors, consultants and engineers for the construction of the Los Angeles County Drainage Area (LACDA) Project in order to alleviate the severe flood overflow potential by increasing the flood-overflow potential of the L.A. River, Rio Hondo Channel and Compton Creek.
Reyes Construction, Inc. was awarded several contracts providing channel work and bridge construction and became an integral part of the project's success. In its entirity, the LACDA Project was awarded the American Public Works Association (APWA) Project of the Year: disaster or Emergency Construction/Repair for construction greater than $10 Million.
