Baja California House Building Project 2005

October 21-23, 2005: Many Reyes Construction, Inc. employees, family and friends spent the weekend with Baja Christian Ministries in order to construct, a brand new house in the poverty stricken community of Los Ninos, Baja, Mexico. The house was built from the ground up, with 2 bedrooms and a loft area with additional sleeping arrangements, kitchen and living area. The house included lighting and electricity and was supplied with all new appliances, beds and bedding (queen, twin and bunk beds), dressers, kitchen table and chairs, and a wash basin for cleaning. The house was presented to a family of 9; a husband, father and brother-in-law working hard to support his wife who lives with severe polio, her sister-in-law who was forced to leave her house due to extreme domestic violence and 6 children (3 of his own and 3 for his sister-in-law who looked after and cared for all the children and her sister through her illness). The blessings of this experience were felt by all.
