    San Manuel Casino Box Culvert & Storm Drainage

    Project Description

    Reyes Construction will install a 20 x 20 high concrete box culvert at the South Crossing. The scope of work includes the demolition and disposal of the existing South Crossing structure; rail and wire revetment; unusable rock and boulders; unsuitable backfill soil; any grout and cement within the channel; and any existing fencing. Reyes Construction will also clear and grub, provide shoring, pre-mold joint fillers, gates, etc., as well as provide erosion control, channel water diversion and pumping. 24 RCP piping and connections were installed in 10 locations to include building tie-ins. Additionally, the existing bridge was removed.

    Santa Clarita/San Francisquito Creek Trail Repair

    Project Description

    Reyes Construction repaired two (2) pedestrian trails, the South River Trail alongside portions of the Santa Clarita River and the North Valencia II Trail along the San Francisquito Creek, that had been washed out by the storms in January 2005. The scope of work included grading, fence repair, fence replacement and drainage improvements. Other tasks included: dewatering, open excavation trenching (up to 22 feet), installing rock below the existing creek channel, slope protection and rebuilding bike paths.

    Repair of Levee and Concrete Flood Wall Joints

    Project Description

    The scope of work for the levee repair surrounding the existing Airfield from Vandegrift Blvd to Basilone Bridge included: clearing & grubbing, disposal of existing levee vegetation and fabric material, grading and re-compacting, toe trench, anchor trench, fabric forms and grouting. The repair of flood wall joints consisted of: potholing, excavation, shoring, procuring stainless steel plates, installing plates, backfilling, and hydroseeding.

    San Luis River Basin Flood Control

    Project Description

    Reyes Construction provided clearing and grubbing within project right-of-way, demolition of existing reinforced concrete bridge abutments, sediment removal and grading of Lower Pond, construction of approximately 4,000 feet of levee fill, placement of grouted rip rap along the levee fill, construction of several reinforced concrete pipe inlet and outlet structures and construction of an asphalt paved bike path along the levee.

    San Gabriel River/San Jose Creek Channel Improvements

    Project Description

    Reyes Construction provided improvements to the San Gabriel River and the San Jose Creek Channel. The site was grubbed and cleared in order to increase the capacity of the channel. Additionally, the channel was sprayed with Arrondo weed neutralizer.

    Modjeska Canyon Repairs

    Santa Paula Creek Emergency Streambank Protection

    Reyes Construction built 24 spur dikes, 12 on each side of the stream, within a 4,500-foot length portion of Santa Paula Creek. RCI also placed 35,000 tons of rock; excavated 90,000 CY of material; placed 90,000 CY of fill; and built compacted fill slopes. RCI was nominated as a Semi-Finalist for the Associated General Contractor (AGC) of California's 2007 Contractor award for Excellence in Project Management on a Project under $5,000,000.

    San Juan & Trabuco Creek Channel Repairs

    Reyes Construction cleaned out a debris basin to increase its effectiveness in flood control in preparation for anticipated winter storms.     Santa Paula Creek Improvements Reach 3

    Reyes Construction provided a reinforced concrete fish ladder with steel plates for protection of flowing waters and debris, excavating over 50,000 cubic meters of the creek bottom and side slopes, compacting fill at miscellaneous areas, placing over 40,000 tons of stone protection on the side slopes and channel invert, approx. 8,000 cubic meters of grouted stone protection. Landscaping and irrigation, placing landscape stone, hydro-seeding, and maintenance of erosion planting.
